30 Day Challenge and the beginning of the end...
This is the beginning of the end of this little, unseen blog. I find that when life isn't 'wonderful' I don't feel like blogging. And the longer I let it go the harder it is to come back and write something. I love to write, I love to create, I love my children and my husband. But I no longer want a blog that is centered around my family. My family really is wonderful but to try to pick out the wonderful bits to share out of the routine and chaos is often to big of a stretch. The end of this blog is the beginning of something new, something less focused on my children or me. Something focused on creating and doing.
So over the next thirty days I will be taking my sister, Becky's, blog challenge as an exit. And an introduction. Each day I will share something about me and something about my new blog.
So let's get the ball rolling...
Blog Challenge Day 1 - Favorite Song
This is harder than it looks... I'm having a hard time deciding if it's something classical or something that recently blew out the back speakers of my mini van. As kids, my sisters and I were surrounded by every kind of music imaginable. Every Saturday night the TV went off and the radio went on. We danced to the Beatles and the Mamas and the Papas. I new all those old songs by heart. Growing up we loved soundtracks to movies and had stacks of classical Cd's. When Erik and I dated in high school, our song was by a little known band named Tool... I really do love all kinds of music!
But growing up I was also surrounded by another kind of music. Praise, hymns, Psalms, worship. The little church that I was raised in was very traditional. An old out of tune was used for worship and there was always coffee and cookies after service. But the hymns that we sung were amazing. I recall singing The Lord's Prayer as a congregation, acapella. It was beautiful. I love the Lord's Prayer. Recently I heard a song on the radio and oddly I knew all the words even though I'd never heard it before. I quickly became my favorite - ALL TIME FAVORITE - song. Enjoy!

The City Harmonic - Manifesto
We believe in the one true God
We believe in Father Spirit Son
We believe that good has won
And all of the people of God sing along
Amen
We are free He died and lives again
We will be a people free from sin
Well be free a kingdom with no end
And all of the people of God sing along
Amen
Our father who art in Heaven, hallowed by thy name
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who have trespassed against us
Lord lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil
For thine Is the kingdom, power and the glory forever
We’re singing –
Amen.
